Filmmaker Nick Nummerdor opens DocYourWorld

NICK NUMMERDOR IS a Chicago-based filmmaker who specializes in directing, shooting, and editing. He was raised in Muskegon Michigan and studied Columbia College Chicago while interning at Kartemquin Films. Along the way, he began his career as a project manger for a small media company and PA’d for films like Freakonomics and Transformers.

More recently, Nummerdor has co-directed and completed the documentary Vannin which can be found on Amazon Prime! “Vannin” has screened at festivals like Fun Fun Fun Fest, San Francisco Doc Fest and has its world premiere at the Calgary Underground Film Festival.

In 2013, he spent a month in Scotland in charge of sound for a feature length documentary on comedian Hannibal Buress (Hannibal Taken Edinburgh) which was released in 2015.

Nick has been featured in several magazines and TV such as ABC morning news, WBEZ, Reel Chicago, and a bunch of newspapers/magazines. Now, he takes on the role as Creative Director of Little Cabin Films, the production company Nick started in 2009.

The Skatepark: Concrete Dreams is a series that Nick directed—which features a skate park being created from conception to completion in three segments taking place over a decade. Through verité documentary footage, interviews and archival footage, the film creates and storyline that shows how dreams can become reality even if there are many obstacles. The goal is to make a positive difference in peoples’ communities through a medium of action sports and the public places that facilitate them.
