Administrative and Organizing Intern for the B-Series, Hip Hop Dance Festival. Job activities include, but not limited to: managing volunteers (outreach to volunteers, creating volunteer schedule, and overseeing volunteers at the festival), managing event vendors (research and secure vendors, outreach and communicate to vendors), supporting B-Series lead curator/manager through planning stages and day of event activities, and assisting with social media and other PR tasks, and clerical duties (writing and sending emails, printing, attending and taking notes at meetings, and creating spreadsheets).
This internship is designed for degree-seeking students at Columbia College Chicago and is available for credit. The ideal candidate should have strong administrative skills including: Attention to detail, strong organization skills, capacity to meet deadlines, motivated, resourceful, self-starting, and a willingness to take direction. Familiarity with Excel is desired. And interest in dance, event production and management, and/or hip hop culture is a plus, but not necessary. Student interns will be expected to be available and ready to work the entire 2-day festival on Friday, November 13 and Saturday, November 14 (exact times T.B.D., but hours will include morning through late evening).
