Columbia College Chicago Theatre Dept. Alum Featured in Chicago Sun-Times Profile for His Role in Broadway Hit ‘Merrily We Roll Along’

Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alum Koray Tarhan ’13, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Musical Theatre, is featured in a two-page spread in the Chicago Sun-Times published Sunday, March 17, 2024. The article is an in-depth profile of Tarhan, who is the understudy for Daniel Radcliffe in the hit Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim’s musical Merrily We Roll Along. As previously reported in this blog, in addition to understudying Radcliffe’s leading role of songwriter Charley Kringas in the show, Tarhan is also a member of the ensemble and the production’s fight captain.

Tarhan’s professional theatre credits prior to Merrily We Roll Along include the title role in Stephen Schwartz’s musical Pippin at the Mercury Theatre in Chicago, as well as roles in the musicals Memphis at Chicago’s Porchlight Music Theatre and Newsies at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, Illinois. When he was a student at Columbia College, Tarhan played the rock singer Roger in the Columbia College Theatre Department’s mainstage production of Rent.
