The show-business news site Deadline reports that Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumnus Michael Stahl-David ’05, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting, is set as a leading player opposite Sophia Bush in Good Sam, CBS’ upcoming new family medical drama.
Good Sam centers on Sam (Bush), a talented yet stifled heart surgeon who embraces her leadership role after her renowned and pompous boss — who also happens to be her father — falls into a coma. Stahl-David will play Caleb, a cocky resident with half the experience but twice the confidence of the other residents on Sam’s team. Stahl-David is known for his TV roles in The Deuce and Narcos and for his work in the feature film Cloverfield. He recently wrapped a recurring role on the Fox drama series Almost Family.
Besides the sci-fi/horror film Cloverfield, Stahl-David’s big-screen credits include Rob Reiner’s 2017 LBJ, in which he played American political icon Robert F. Kennedy opposite Woody Harrelson as President Lyndon B. Johnson. Stahl-David also has extensive Chicago and New York stage credits.
