“Our distinguished Ensemble consists of singing actors with a vocal prowess unmatched anywhere,” declares Paramount artistic director Jim Corti proudly in his latest blog post. Among the stellar ensemble are Columbia College alumni Harter Clingman ’11 and Nathan Maurice Cooper ’13, both graduates of the Theatre Department’s BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance, and Teressa LaGamba ’13, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting. Jim Corti, who will direct and choreograph the production, is a former teacher of musical theatre dance at the Columbia College Theatre Department.

All three alums are well known for their work in musical theatre in the Chicago area. Clingman has played leading roles in the Mercury Theater’s productions of The Addams Family and The Producers; Cooper recently costarred in Young Frankenstein at Metropolis Performing Arts Centre and in Pride Films & Plays’ production Bite: A Puck-ing Queer Cabaret; and LaGamba was featured in Kokandy Productions’ recent acclaimed stagings of Tomorrow Morning and Heathers.
Sweeney Todd runs February 8-March 19 at the Paramount Theatre, 23 E. Galena Boulevard, in Aurora, Illinois. For tickets, call 630-896-6666 or click here.
