Things I like.

First I’d like to preface this post by saying that although you are more than likely reading it in January I am actually writing it in December- during finals week.  Needless to say my brain has somewhat turned to mush from all the writing and reading I’ve had to do.  So to save myself some brain strength for the final push at the end of the semester, I thought I’d create a post of things I like (see, I can’t even come up with a creative title).  Not only am I feeling slightly lazy, but I also thought it would be a nice way of rounding out to my blog thus far, seeing as I started the same way in my post titled, The Power of Movement.

So here you are…. just some things I like.

First up is I video I stumbled across on my Facebook feed of Technology, Entertainment, Design (TED).  TED is a nonprofit organization who’s philosophy is, “ideas worth spreading.”  I like the idea of this TEDtalk a lot.  It definitely helped me better understand what he was talking about.

The following image is from the post 10 Incredibly Bizarre Art Installations.  The picture is of my favorite of the ten they speak of, “Klunk Garden” by Gelitin, an Austrian art collective.

Thirdly, is the music video for the Sigur Ros song “Svefn-G-Englar.”  Although I am personally not a huge fan of Sigur Ros (despite seeing them live in Detroit once), I thought this video was beautiful.  It also made me think about the current trend of inclusion of individuals with disabilities in the art making process (which, of course, I am super into).

Next, is a picture I took myself.  As a form of recuperation from homework, I go for walks, and I often take my camera with me.  Lately, I’ve been snapping pictures of various street art around my neighborhood.  I see this guy a lot and I like him.

Lastly, is a more “close to home” plug.  The following is a video from the Fall Student/Faculty Dance concert put on by the Dance/Movement Therapy & Counseling program at Hamlin Park.  The dance was choreographed by second year DMT & C student, Heidi Landgraf.

Well, there you have it–just a few things I like to indulge in on the internet when I’m not slaving a way to the rigor of school!
