Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble, a cutting-edge dance/theatre company whose artistic director is Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago alum Sara Maslanka ’13, presents Full Circle 2016, a festival of multidisciplinary work, October 14-22. The Full Circle festival is a two-weekend “collision of dance, theatre, spoken word and visual art.” This year’s festival features new work based on consumerism to explore identity, society, and technology.
Performances take place at Ebenezer Lutheran Church auditorium, 1650 W. Foster, in Chicago’s Edgewater Theatre District. Shows are at 8 PM Friday and Saturday, October 14-15 and 21-22. Two different programs will be presented on Friday and Saturday. Student tickets are only $10. General admission prices are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, or $30 for a one-weekend pass. Columbia College Chicago alumni appearing in the festival include Sadie Woods ’00, Shalaka Kulkarni ’06, Jamie Corliss ’14, Lydia Feuerhelm ’14, and Karen Yatsko ’16. Also performing are current Columbia student Khloe Janel and Dance Center of Columbia College faculty member Emma Draves. Draves and Woods will perform on Fridays; Kulkarni, Corliss, Feuerhelm, Janel, and Yatsko will appear on Saturdays.
