Under the direction of the Education and Outreach Manager, the Peer SFS Coach will assist visitors to the office, track appointments and educate students and their families on how to use services to obtain and secure resources to assist with paying for college. The Peer SFS Coach will also identify circumstances which need to be redirected in order to obtain resolution of complex student account situations. The Peer SFS Coach may also assist with preparation for special events, workshops and presentations, and assist in maintaining the Education Center.
RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES:
Assist with acting as the first point of contact by greeting students, answering questions and signing students in for appointments.
Act as the SALT Ambassador by assisting with getting the SALT financial literacy programming up and running on campus including hanging posters and flyers, and promoting through social media networks.
Be highly involved on campus, visit popular spots to talk to students about SALT, increasing money knowledge and helping other students learn about money.
Guide students with the sign in process and general student account navigation in the Education Center (front desk, kiosks, and work stations).
Monitor and respond to Student Financial Services social media accounts and Contact SFS email.
Coach students on general financial literacy topics.
Partner with fellow student coaches and mentors to provide a network of support for students. This may include interaction with Peer Academic Coaches, Residence Assistants, and other student leaders on campus.
Contribute to the Student Advisory Board meetings.
Attend SFS sponsored student workshops and events.
Restock lobby materials and distribute SFS materials across campus.
Other duties as assigned.
