My name is Camila Cediel and I am a commercial photography student here at Columbia College focusing in fashion and lifestyle portraiture. I also am part of the Portfolio Center working at the front desk.
A couple of weeks back in September (way back) I went on a little trip to New York City in hopes to expand my photography portfolio by shooting as much street style as possible during New York Fashion Week.
Little did I know that right at the kick off on September 4th I was already inside the tents of the Lincoln Center shooting the BCBG Max Azria show, Herve Leger, Desigual and other designers.

Besides shooting runway I also had fun shooting street style portraits of people outside the Lincoln Center:
This all was made possible due to my initiative and support from my family to pursue one of my biggest goals: visit New York City, shoot fashion photography for my portfolio and network with the fashion industry. I was hesitant at first because the event took place during the first week of classes. I had a rough time catching up on my assignments and editing the photos from the trip but the opportunities I encountered were priceless.
Networking and having a portfolio online has been highly beneficial to this trip and previous experiences.
