Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department Faculty, Alumni, and Students Bring Gilbert & and Sullivan’s ‘Pinafore’ to the Stage Oct. 9-18

Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department faculty member Amy Uhl is directing and choreographing the classic Gilbert & Sullivan operetta H.M.S. Pinafore for the Savoyaires, a company dedicated to the work of librettist William S. Gilbert and composer Arthur Sullivan. The show runs October 9-18 at Chute Middle School Auditorium, 1400 Oakton, in north suburban Evanston.

Uhl, a coordinator of Columbia College’s Musical Theatre Program, has assembled a creative/production team that includes Columbia College Theatre Department students, alumni, and staff, including assistant director Cecilia Adams, a senior in the Theatre Department’s Theatre Directing Program; assistant choreographer Lauren Griffith (BFA ’15), an alumna of Columbia’s BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance; lighting designer Cody Ryan (BFA ’15), a graduate of the Theatre Department’s Theatre Design Program; set designer Jessica Howe, a student in the Theatre Department’s Theatre Design Program; and costume designer Tom Kieffer, manager of the Theatre Department’s costume shop.
