Michael Stahl-David (BA ’05), a graduate of the Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department‘s BA Program in Acting, has been cast to play Robert F. Kennedy in Rob Reiner’s forthcoming film LBJ, according to a September 9 report in Deadline.com. The movie will explore the animosity between President Lyndon Johnson and Kennedy, whose slain brother, John F. Kennedy, Johnson succeeded as president following JFK’s 1963 assassination. Johnson will be portrayed by Woody Harrelson.
Stahl-David has an extensive list of film and TV credits, including the cult classic horror film Cloverfield and the tongue-in-cheek autobiographical TV miniseries Michael Stahl-David: Behind the Star, which he co-wrote and co-directed with fellow Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department Acting Program alumnus Jeremy Beiler (BA ’04). In addition, he has an impressive resume of stage work in Chicago at Goodman Theatre, Steppenwolf, and other theatres.
