Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department student, alumni, and faculty talent is featured in Porchlight Music Theatre’s staged concert of the musical They’re Playing Our Song, running March 6-8 at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn, in Chicago. With music by Marvin Hamlisch, lyrics by Carole Bayer Sager, and a book by Neil Simon, They’re Playing Our Song features Tyler Symonè, a senior in the Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department‘s pre-professional BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance, and Columbia College alumnus Koray Tarhan ’13, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Musical Theatre. The show’s musical director is Columbia College musical theatre program faculty member Andra Velis Simon.
The performance is part of the “Porchlight Revisits” series of concert versions of vintage musicals. This 1979 romantic musical comedy chronicles the personal and professional relationship between a wisecracking composer and an aspiring, offbeat lyricist. For tickets, click here.
