Alumni and faculty of the Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department are in the cast and creative team of the musical Billy Elliot at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, Illinois. The show runs February 7 through March 24. For tickets and more information, click here.
The production’s cast includes Columbia College alums Jared David Michael Grant ’12, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Musical Theatre, and Dakota Hughes ’15, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance, as well as Columbia College Theatre Department faculty member Barbara Robertson.
Columbia College alum Isaiah Wilson Silvia-Chandley ’18, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance, is the dance-packed show’s choreographer. The show’s music director is former Columbia College Theatre Department student and staff accompanist Kory Danielson. Columbia College Theatre Department faculty member Susan Gosdick is the show’s dialect coach. Former Theatre Department faculty member Mike Tutaj is the show’s projection designer. And Jim Corti, a former Musical Theatre Dance instructor in the Columbia College Theatre Department’s Musical Theatre Program, is Paramount Theatre’s artistic director.
