Columbia College Chicago Theatre Dept. Alum Featured in Off-Broadway ‘Nightclub Cantata’ April 23-May 18

Sarah Nandola

Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alum Sarah Nandola ’20, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance, is in the cast of the Cell Theatre’s off-Broadway production of Nightclub Cantata, Liz Swados’  provocative, eclectic 1977 theatrical creation, rarely seen since its original production. The show runs April 23 through May 22 at the Cell Theatre, located at 338 W. 23rd St. in New York City. For tickets, click here.

Based on texts by Sylvia Plath, Pablo Neruda, and other poets, Nightclub Cantata is a joyful song cycle of world literature about survival: what compels us back to life and to living as one. Whimsical, intense, insightful and singular, Nightclub Cantata combines what Swados called “the seriousness of a cantata with the frivolousness of a nightclub.”
