The Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department is proud to be among the 88 local theatres participating in the “Chicago Acts Together” campaign to support the Chicago Theatre Workers Relief Fund, which provides direct financial assistance to theatre workers who have lost work as a result of COVID-19 and are facing financial uncertainty. The campaign will raise funds from the sales of a new limited edition “Chicago Acts Together” t-shirt. All proceeds from sales of the t-shirts will go directly to the Chicago Theatre Workers Relief Fund, which is administered by the League of Chicago Theatres. The t-shirts feature the names of all participating theatres, making the t-shirt project a showcase of Chicago’s robust and diverse theatre community as well as a vital fundraising effort. The t-shirt was designed by Chicago’s internationally esteemed Steppenwolf Theatre Company, whose artistic director is Columbia College alum Anna D. Shapiro ’90, HDR ’15, winner of the 2008 Tony Award for Best Direction of a Play for the Broadway hit August: Osage County and recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from Columbia College in 2015.
