Columbia College Chicago Theatre Dept. Alums Bring ‘Between Riverside and Crazy’ to Redtwist Stage Jan. 9-Feb. 10

Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alums are bringing Stephen Adly Guirgis’ Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Between Riverside and Crazy to the stage of Chicago’s Redtwist Theatre January 9 through February 10.

The production is directed by Columbia College alum Rinska Carrasco-Prestinary ’10, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Theatre. The cast includes Columbia alum Almanya Narula ’16a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting. And Columbia alum Jeffrey Levin ’10, a graduate of the Columbia College Chicago Music Department‘s BA Program in Music with a Composition Concentration, is the show’s sound designer.

In Guirgis’ 2015 play, we meet Pops, an ex-cop and widower clinging to one of the last rent-controlled apartments in New York City, dealing with a never-ending swirl of demands from family, friends, former colleagues, and a shady church lady . . . until he resolves to draw the line and make some demands of his own.
