Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alum Lea Ciastko ’16, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Musical Theatre, performs her one-woman show When Life Gives You Cancer, Make Comedy on Sundays, January 6, 13, 20, and 27, at 6:30 PM at The Second City’s de Maat Studio Theatre, located at 230 W. North in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood. When Life Gives You Cancer, Make Comedy is Ciastko’s second solo stand-up show, a follow-up to last year’s It’s My Cancer and I’ll Laugh If I Want To. She saw that show as the story of her learning she has cancer and this show is more of a catch-all of the topics she jokes about such as her family, her upbringing, and her love of musicals. Tickets are $8 for college students and veterans, $15 general admission, and $5 for students of The Second City Training Center. The Second City, America’s premier comedy theatre and training center, is the Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department’s partner on the BA Program in Comedy Writing and Performance.
