Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alums are bringing Stephen Adly Guirgis’ Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Between Riverside and Crazy to the stage of Chicago’s Redtwist Theatre January 9 through February 10.

The production is directed by Columbia College alum Rinska Carrasco-Prestinary ’10, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Theatre. The cast includes Columbia alum Almanya Narula ’16, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting. And Columbia alum Jeffrey Levin ’10, a graduate of the Columbia College Chicago Music Department‘s BA Program in Music with a Composition Concentration, is the show’s sound designer.
In Guirgis’ 2015 play, we meet Pops, an ex-cop and widower clinging to one of the last rent-controlled apartments in New York City, dealing with a never-ending swirl of demands from family, friends, former colleagues, and a shady church lady . . . until he resolves to draw the line and make some demands of his own.
