Former Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department Musical Theatre student Jody Shelton is the coauthor, director, musical director, and executive producer of Star Wars: The Farce Awakens, a new musical parody presented by The People’s Improv Theater. This spoof of the Star Wars film franchise begins performances February 4 at The Striker, 123 E. 24th St. (between Park and Lexington avenues), New York.

Shelton’s prior credits include stints as musical director for The Second City National Touring Company and as a performer and musical director for the improv show Baby Wants Candy, as well as coauthoring the Off-Broadway hit 50 Shades! The Musical and the musical comedy The Story of a Story (The Untold Story).
