Miriam Smith

Columbia College Chicago has announced the selection of Miriam Smith as Executive Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving in the Office of Development and Alumni Relations. Chosen through a national search, Smith brings extensive experience in cultivating alumni, parent, and student engagement; achieving annual giving goals; and creating a philanthropic culture in collaboration with colleagues from across a wide variety of academic departments and administrative units. Most recently, Smith was the Manager of Alumni Engagement and Giving at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Her experience also includes positions at Manhattanville College, Sarah Lawrence College, and Columbia Artists Management. She received her Master of Music in Opera from Binghamton University and her Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College. In her new role at Columbia College Chicago, Smith will be responsible for building alumni engagement, increasing annual giving, partnering with the Office of Student Success to foster student and parent relationships, and partnering with the Office of Strategic Marketing and Communications to enhance the alumni web presence and magazine.
