Cherie Tymkiw
After completing her MAT at Columbia College Chicago in the summer of 2014, Cherie accepted a high school arts teacher position at Maine Township, in Park Ridge, Illinois. As an alumni of the district, she is pleased to be working in the neighborhood where she grew up, and excited to give back to her high school community. Besides teaching art and photography classes, Cherie continues her own art practice in two-dimensional media including collage and drawing. Cherie is constantly looking for ways to integrate her background in contemporary art with creating a contemporary teaching practice to best suit the needs of 21st century students and help them to build a lifelong relationship with creativity.
