Christopher Cozzi
Music Composition for the Screen, MFA
I’m a second year student in the Music Composition for the Screen program, and I got my start playing guitar in extreme metal bands. I write music that’s inspired by all things geeky/creepy, and I have an intense love for Film and Game music. I’m also an Undergraduate alumni from Columbia College.
TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WHAT YOU WERE DOING BEFORE YOU CAME TO COLUMBIA.
Before entering the MFA, I was working on my BMUS in Music Composition at Columbia.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE COLUMBIA FOR YOUR GRADUATE STUDY?
I knew that I wanted to write music for film and games, but after doing my research and touring the program at Columbia, I realized that this program was the absolute best fit for me!
TELL US ABOUT A PROJECT YOU’RE WORKING ON THAT YOU’RE EXCITED ABOUT.
I’m currently working on two student films that are set to premiere in November of 2017, but I’m very excited about two independent albums I’m putting together. One is a Symphonic Black Metal project, and the other is an 80’s inspired Synthwave/Industrial album.
