Karl El Sokhn is a recent graduate of Columbia College Chicago where he received his MFA in Nonfiction Creative Writing. He uses the expansive quality of translation to unearth the socio-cultural discrepancies between his native country (Lebanon) and his country of refuge (America). His writing deals with the prevailing issues of the Lebanese Diaspora, the psychosocial impact of immigration, and the preservation of the Lebanese memory through writing.
