The Dance/Movement Therapy & Counseling Program…in a series of gifs
Now that I have finally come close to the official end of my time here in the Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling program at Columbia College Chicago, I can’t help but look back and reflect on the crazy journey that my experience truly was. It honestly was a roller coaster of emotions and new discoveries…therefore I can’t think of a better way to explain it than with a series of gifs. Enjoy ;)
THE MOMENT YOU FINALLY GET YOUR ACCEPTANCE LETTER!
And you start feelin yourself…
Then you have to figure out WHO to live with and WHERE…
You start with the summer intensive where you think it’s gonna be like
…but really it’s more like
Classes finally start and you’re like “psh…I got this.”
but then it turns out you really don’t.
You start to wonder if you’ve ever cried so much before in your entire life
but realize everything is A-Okay because it’s all a part of the process!
Luckily there are tons of performance opportunities which is pretty friggin’ sweet…you love the stage
And you start to make some pretty awesome friends (who totally get you)
Then suddenly you’ve started your summer practicum
And you have to seriously make a decision and start writing your thesis proposal
But then there’s that moment it finally gets approved.
You’ve been at your new internship site for almost a whole semester now…
You got all of your DTC, IRB, ABCDEFG approvals in order for your thesis—I guess the time has finally come for you to
Suddenly you find yourself in your last semester of grad school
…and you realize how many different emotions you have about it…
But then you get to experience Research Celebration, Manifest, and Graduation!
And you’re feeling pretty damn good about your accomplishments….
You walked across that stage at commencement….
yet somehow you still need to take two weekend courses….oh and you don’t technically get your MA degree until your thesis is officially posted.
But that’s not gonna get you down! You’re gonna get out there and start that career of yours.
Because you’re worth it!
