She has exhibited her work and performed in galleries and theater venues across the United States such as the Chicago Cultural Center, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, the Art Institute of Chicago, and Monkey Town, NYC. Her earlier work is also featured on recordings produced by the Arachnid Sound label.

She earned her MFA in Creative Writing from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and an MFA in Photography from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She teaches graduate and undergraduate creative writing and related seminars at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is also Co-Director of the new low residency MA Summer Intensive of the Interdisciplinary Arts Department at Columbia College Chicago where she also teaches writing-related courses.

Sherry Antonini’s current practice is focused on a new project, Text Dresses, work combining poetry, sculptural objects, and sound composition. Pieces from this series have been recently featured as an installation in “Sculpture Today: New Forces, New Forms” at Meijer Sculpture Museum, as well as at Art Chicago, Blink Gallery, and the Greenleaf Art Center. A collection of the poetry from this body of work is being prepared for publication in 2015.

She is a vibrant and wise artist and it has been a pleasure learning and growing in her writing class. She is truly a treasure to Columbia.
