I thought thesis hours were going to be a piece of cake. I was!

First, I’m working three jobs. I am teaching Professional Writing Courses for Florida Gulf Coast University online, I’m running outreach programs for the Writing Center/Learning Studio here at Columbia College Chicago, and I am the lovely ambassador for Creative Writing-Ficiton MFA here. It’s a lot of work, but so worth it! Also, I’m an editor with the start-up journal 3Elements Review. Check us out! We are looking for new work.

I moved a month ago to a wonderful, huge apartment in Andersonville. This is a great neighborhood in Chicago if you have yet to make it this far north. There is awesome theatre up here, many concert venues, great restaurants, and some nice little boutiques. I had a great housewarming party and some good friends came. It seems the only picture that was taken, though, was of my rugby team, so, sorry other friends that didn’t make it!

Of course, when I moved, my bookshelves were the first thing that I organized. It’s like therapy for me.

A few weeks ago, I went to the wedding of my “little sister.” I brought a good friend as my date and was asked to walk the mother-of-the-bride to her seat. They are like my second family, and while I was heading to and from the wedding in Atlanta, I was able to make some revisions on my thesis.

Last week, I submitted the first part of my thesis for comments. I am so excited to get feedback for this, but I’m already moving forward. I’ll revise when the comments come in!

It’s been busy, MarginAliens. But, I thought it would be cool to see what it is you want to hear about in a few weeks. Let me know in the comments on what subjects you’d like me to blog! It could be about the program, what other students are writing, restaurants around the school? Anything is up for grabs! What do YOU want to know?
