This post will be praising the deliciousness that is Chicago’s very own Bakin and Eggs.  If you’re not hungry now, you will be in two minutes.  You’re welcome.

The Restaurant

Situated at 3120 N. Lincoln Ave, Bakin and Eggs is conveniently located a few blocks from the Paulina brown line stop, making it an easy destination for just about anyone.  I’ve been there by foot and by car; walking is easy and parking is never too difficult to find.  I recommend walking unless weather prevents it.

The space itself is very homey, not too big.  Regular seating and tables, you’ll find yourself occasionally scrunched next to very nice people.  It can get a little loud during their peak hours, but the food is definitely worth it.

The Food

Bakin and Eggs specializes in breakfast food, so it does not keep regular restaurant hours (7:00am-3:00pm).  You’ll find it most packed in the PM, although people are there all the time. The food itself is ridiculously awesome.  It is appropriate to mention first and foremost the bacon flight:

This bacon flight includes jalapeno bacon, cherry smoked bacon, mesquite bacon, honey bacon, and maple pepper bacon.  I’ll leave you for a moment to think about that…

Keeping on the bacon front, we have the BLT (with cheese grits):

Next we have the frittatas:

That’s right folks, it’s a frittata with grilled onions, blue cheese, bacon, and balsamic.  Comes with toast, house potatoes (the best I’ve ever had) and A SIDE OF BACON…we should have guessed considering the name of the restaurant.

Frittata with onions, peppers, and bacon.  There is likely guacamole in there as well.  Comes with a toast and a side of sausage.

The Drink

I’m not a big coffee drinker myself, but everyone I know who has been to Bakin and Eggs recommends every beverage they serve.

I think it’s very important to note that the servers will bring you water in a glass, and also provide a larger container for you to refill your own water.  It is a pet peeve of mine when servers leave my water glass empty–I know they’re busy, it’s not their fault, but I get thirsty when I eat.  Bakin and Eggs solves this problem in a cute way:

The Satisfaction

If you are in the mood to have delicious and VERY filling food at reasonable prices in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, come on down to Bakin and Eggs.  They’ll treat you right.  But beware the food coma…
