Why Voting Matters

Why Voting Matters

Historically, young people in America have a low turn out for voting. But voting matters. Your voice counts. As young people especially, it is so important for us to vote because we are voting for what we want to see in our country.

With everything that’s happening in this current moment, voting is especially important. It is our right and duty to vote, so use your voice. Change happens when everyone comes together and votes. Although we have a presidential election coming up, it’s just as important, if not more, to vote for every election. Even in your local elections.

The things we vote for directly affect our country, which then directly affect everyone. “Not being involved” with politics is simply inaccurate. If you live in this country, you are therefore involved. If you don’t know who or what you’re voting for, websites like vote411.org and ballotready.org are great resources. So let’s show ourselves at the polls this year (even if we may be sending absentee ballots) and shock everyone with our turn out!
