We’re in this temporary state.

We’re in this temporary state.

In one of my classes this week, we talked about liminality, specifically relating to the theatre. Liminality, in basic terms, is essentially the in-between or threshold. “The liminal space is the ‘crossing over’ space – a space where you have left something behind, yet you are not yet fully in something else” (https://transformationalpresence.org/alan-seale-blog/liminal-space-embracing-mystery-power-transition-will-2/). I thought this concept was fitting for the state we’re in right now. Life isn’t the same as it was pre-quarantine, but we are somewhat adjusted as it’s been officially 6 months since the start of quarantine. (That feels weird to say).

Yet, we are not fully back into life as we want to be. We’re in this temporary state. It feels very strange, but remembering that this is only temporary is very important. It’s what I’ve been holding onto. It will get better.

Until next time,
