My work focuses on the body in relation to absence. I use the figure in my work as imagery to relate to the viewer but keep it distorted in some way to maintain a distance from the viewer. I want this distance to allow the viewer to look at the body and the piece in an objective way while still sustaining the relationship to themselves through familiar forms. While all of my work has this visual aesthetic and goal in common, the specific situations that are tackled are dependent to the individual pieces and projects.
