Are You the Next Manifest Creative Director?


Think you can design the face of Manifest? Are you looking for a year-long paid job in your field, and the opportunity to build your body of work? Then look no further! We’re looking for Columbia College Chicago’s best talent who can skillfully portray the look and feel of Manifest Urban Arts Festival, Columbia’s end of the year celebration. Previous winners’ designs utilized everything from paper arts, watercolor, typography, graphic design, and mixed media. The winning designer will get a paid position, exposure, fame, and untold riches. And by that, we mean your work will be seen all across Chicago and you’ll have a year-long paid student worker position as the Manifest 2020 Creative Director.

A few things you’ll want to consider:

  • Submissions are open to students in ALL academic departments

  • Candidates that apply MUST have a good grasp on Adobe Creative Suite programs, specifically Illustrator and Photoshop.

  • Candidates MUST have a good sense and a keen eye for design.
  • Candidates must be current Columbia students enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours for undergraduate students and a minimum of 9 for graduate students.

  • Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.

  • Candidates must submit original art. Do NOT use copyright protected images or elements of another designer’s work.

  • Candidates can submit up to 2 designs in the competition.

  • The design must incorporate the Manifest star in some form, and the Manifest logo.
  • The contest winner will be asked to submit additional design concepts to help finalize and complete the Manifest 2020 marketing campaign.

  • All submissions will be reviewed by a committee of students and staff who will select a limited number of designs.

  • The designs will then be released online for the public to vote.

The Manifest 2020 theme is RISE.
