China Harris is a Chicago-based fine artist and graphic designer. China’s love and enthusiasm for art began during childhood. At the age of 16, she participated in After School Matters’ Painting on Canvas program in downtown Chicago at Gallery 37 Center for The Arts. Here is where she learned how to paint for the very first time. China has also worked for After School Matters as a teaching artist. She decided to give back to the community, instructing her own art programs, Wood Panel Drawing and Painting, and Experimental 2D Design. China studied Studio Arts at Illinois State University, and later transferred to Columbia College Chicago, where she studied Fine Art and Graphic Design. China has received her BFA degree in Fine Arts. Currently, China works as a freelance Graphic Designer and Illustrator. Her experienced hand and intuitive sense of color gives her work a smooth flow, and a striking yet simple harmony.
