Know Your Resources…Spring Break Self-Care Checklist
Student Relations assists students who may be experiencing difficulty, which typically may be as a result of financial, personal or emotional concerns, academic challenges, and environmental factors.
In preparation for our upcoming Spring Break, we went ahead and compiled some tips for you to make the most of your time off!
Spring Break Self-Care Checklist
- Get Some Rest
- Sleep in or take a nap. Go at your own pace. Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night.
- Fuel Your Body
- Limit eating junk food and consuming caffeine. Instead, try consuming more green vegetables and lean proteins while drinking plenty of water. Avoid alcohol and other substances to feel your best.
- Be Safe
- Be alert at all times. Learn your surroundings. Travel in groups. Contact 911 if you have an emergency.
- Move It
- Do something that feels good to you such as yoga, dancing, swimming, bike riding, walking or running.
- Relax
- Take 10-15 minutes every day and just breathe. Try meditation, get quiet, and center yourself. Express gratitude.
- Consent is Sexy
- Always remember that consent must be given prior to any sexual activity. Talk with your partner about your sexual preferences and set clear boundaries. Use contraception should you wish to reduce pregnancy and the spread of sexually transmitted infections.
- Enjoy Yourself
- You owe it to yourself to take a break! Talk to friends, see a movie, read a book, and have a cup of tea. Feel inspired.
