Two noted Chicago dance troupes with strong connections to the Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago are joining forces for a weekend of performances at Links Hall, Chicago’s artistic incubator and launch pad for the research, development and presentation of new work in the performing arts. On Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27, Links Hall’s Collisions II will present A Line Through, a program of dance exploring historical and contemporary cultural differences. The performance is a collaboration between Mordine & Company Dance Theatre, led by the Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago’s founder and former chair Shirley Mordine, and BraveSoul, a Hip Hop dance theatre directed by Daniel “BRAVEMONK” Haywood and Kelsa “K-Soul” Robinson, both current Dance Center faculty members. Saturday’s performance is at 7 PM; Sunday’s show starts at 1 PM. Tickets are $15 for students and seniors, $20 for the general public. Links Hall is located at 3111 N. Western Ave., in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood. For tickets, click here.
