Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago Alums Present New Work in ‘Bloom’ May 3-4

Alluvion Dance Chicago — an emerging contemporary dance company founded and led by Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago alum Johnny Huntoon ’16, a graduate of the Dance Center’s BA Program in Dance — presents Bloom, its first repertoire show choreographed on and by members of Alluvion Dance Chicago. In three distinct parts, this show follows the journey of ADC from planting to growing and blooming.

Choreographers whose work is featured includes Dance Center of Columbia College alums Johnny Huntoon and Julia Kummerow ’15 and Alyssa Calvano ’17, also graduates of the Dance BA program, as well as Porscha Spells, a student in the Dance BA program, and Morgan Cutler, a student in the Dance Center’s BFA Program in Dance. Kummerow and Calvano are also performing. And Claire Doty, a student in the Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department‘s BA Program in Theatre Design and Technology, is the lighting designer. Bloom plays two nights only — Friday and Saturday, May 3 and 4, at 7:30 PM at the Edge Theatre, located at 5451 N. Broadway in Chicago’s Edgewater/Andersonville Theatre District.
