Alumni and faculty members from the Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago are among the dance artists receiving grants from the Chicago grant-making organization 3Arts, which announced on November 6, 2017, that it will award $330,000 to nearly 100 Chicago-based artists this year. Among those receiving $1,000 grants as part of 3Arts’ new Make a Wave program, a peer-to-peer giving initiative in which awardees from the previous year choose this current year’s honorees, are Dance Center of Columbia College alums Rachel Bunting ’01, Keyierra Collins ’16, and Erin Kilmurray ’08, all graduates of the Dance Center’s BA Program in Dance, as well as Dance Center faculty members Amaniyea Payne and Meghann Wilkinson. (Rachel Bunting is also a faculty member in the Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department.)
Since its founding in 2007, 3Arts has helped artists by providing cash awards, project funding, residency fellowships, and professional development in support of the advancement of their careers. The organization has given more than $2.5 million to more than 500 artists over the past ten years.
