With graduation upon us, we’ve been asked a lot of question about portfolios. Portfolios for Fashion Design & Fashion business students differ slightly, but many of the core elements remain the same. Communicating your process through narrative and strong visuals is key in helping industry professionals understand the breadth of your capabilities and skill sets.
Both concentrations can have print portfolios and websites. Regardless of whether you do one or both, each need to be branded (have your logo/identity/type treatment of your name) and your contact information. Websites will have categories to identify individual projects, print portfolios showing two or more projects should have a table of contents. See the examples below.

ONLINE PORTFOLIO/WEBSITE OPTIONS:
There are many options for choosing a template-based web platform for showing your work. Both Squarespace & Photoshelter have some great Getting Started videos. We also like Yola, aphotofolio, hasaportfolio, and a few others you can find here.
VIRB is still available to students, free for one year, by registering at students.virb.com. They also have a great Help Center.
