“Columbia College Chicago was one of the best decisions I decided to make for myself after graduating high school. I knew that I wanted to major in journalism as well as stay in the city while doing so. Making Columbia the perfect choice for me. During my time there, I interned for WGN Morning News Show and ABC 7 Chicago’s Windy City Live. I also anchored for Columbia’s very own Newsbeat which was nominated for a Chicago Emmy. I worked for an award winning publication, the Columbia Chronicle @ccchronicle, and had the pleasure of being surrounded by so many influential individuals. Our teachers were actual new anchors and producers. They worked for every television market I could see myself working in. ⠀

I graduated in 2015 from Columbia College Chicago and immediately pursued my dream of travel. I am currently soaring the friendly skies for a major airline and documenting my adventures as a flight attendant on Youtube which allows me to use every skill I learned in college. ⠀

Ashley’s advice to students: Connect and network with your professors. They are in the field working the jobs that you will someday have. So get to know them and become friends with them. They will soon become the recommendation letters you will soon need. Also, stay consistent and authentic in any and everything you may do!
