The MetaMedia teaching artist at McGaw YMCA is responsible for providing direct instruction in multiple disciplines of fine arts and photograph to middle school makers (youth). This person will create, adapt, plan, and implement workshops, projects, and DIY activities at beginner, intermediate, and advance levels. Quarterly the instructor will support makers by critiquing and showcasing their work.
Qualifications:
• Proficiency in technologies such as music production, video production, graphic design, photography, game design, fashion and/or art
• Experience working with teens and adults
• Understanding and use of Web 2.0 technologies
• Familiarity with Mac operating systems
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to work on Saturdays
• Ability to work calmly, under pressure and adhere to deadlines
• Candidates must have good verbal and written communication skills and be competent in computer usage
• Knowledge of effective program development; ability to develop a positive, effective, professional team; high level competency skills in problem solving, decision making, and quality program delivery along with creative marketing skills are desired
• Certifications in CPR/AED and First Aid must be obtained within 90 days of hire
