The Correspondence Unit is responsible for receiving, disseminating, and tracking all of the mayor’s mail and ensuring response (if need be) for residents and businesses and organizations alike. A large component of this is forwarding mail to appropriate city departments and agencies as well as directly answering questions and fulfilling various requests for mayoral correspondence. As the Correspondence Writer, you will assist in every aspect of the department as needed (answering phones, data entry, talking with citizens in person) but function most consistently as a writer in furnishing proclamations in addition to letters of greetings, congratulations, support, etc. You’ll also play a key role in creating a valuable work experience for several HS interns during the school year and build important working relationships with city staff.
