Senior Savannah Million talks about the perks of being a volunteer at a local non-profit and how she was able to make the jump from volunteer to paid designer.

Savannah works with the with local non-profit organization 826CHI, founded by Dave Eggers (author of A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius and founder of McSweeney’s).

Eggers founded the organizations because he realized that as a writer, he had flexible hours and the ability to make a difference in the education of local public school students. He launched 826, an organization that now exists in multiple cities to help young people “explore their creativity and improve their writing skills.”

826CHI will be joining us at the Non-Profit Career Fair on November 8th, along with 40 other organizations from 2-5 p.m.! See you then!
