Last week the Portfolio Center and Student Employment hosted the annual fall semester Job Fair. We had a great turnout of employers and students–and we want to thank everyone who came out! (Let us know if you hired a student or if you are a student who got hired.)

A total of 372 students attended the job fair! That number is right on par with what we traditionally expect.

If you find yourself pondering this question, then we have a few helpful tips to help you continue to networks with the professionals you met to score that job.

• Follow Up! Send an email or a “thank you” note to the employers you talked to at the Job Fair. Not only is it common courtesy, but it shows that you are pro-active, which is a key skill these employers are looking for in you.
• Link Up on LinkedIn That’s right, get on LinkedIn and request to connect with the employers you met. Oh, what’s you say that? You don’t use LinkedIn? Well now’s the perfect time to perfect–or create–that profile. LinkedIn might not be Facebook, but it’s the social networking tool of choice for employees looking to recruit you.
