Teaching a full course load during the fall and spring hasn’t slowed down Wilber “Chip” Schilling’s active artistic production and exhibition schedule, providing an impressive working artist role model for InterArts students. Schilling’s busy curatorial practice has landed his Indulgence Press work in exhibitions across the country this year, from New Hampshire to Wisconsin and Minnesota to Michigan. And, Indulgence Press will also be in attendance at the Craneway Pavillion during the Codex IV Bookfair and Symposium in Richmond, CA. 

His exhibition appearances stretch from last summer through March of 2013. Schilling’s book Arthur & Barbara is featured in the show Synthesis 3D: Artist Multiples at Minneapolis Institute of Arts, in the Museum’s main gallery for printed works.
 

Another work, Half Life/Full Life, is part of the traveling exhibition Time on Paper 2012, which originated at Hudson Hospital in Wisconsin (August 8–November 11, 2012), and is now at the Phipps Center for the Arts until January 6, 2013.

Two other midwest exhibitions that cross over into the new year feature Schilling’s work, including End of Times (Minnesota Center for Book Arts, November 16, 2012–January 6, 2013) and All Pi-ed Up: Experiments in Letterpress Broadsides at the Sharon Arts Center in Peterborough, NH (December 7, 2012–January 21, 2013)

Next up on his docket is the show Articulating the Infinite at the Traffic Zone Center for Art in Minneapolis. Schilling is curating this exhibition of work by Jeff Rathermel, which will run January 7–February 15, 2013. And, as if that wasn’t enough, his work is also included in the Minnetonka Center for Book Arts exhibition Curious Passions: The Diverse Inquiries (Wayzata, Minnesota, February–March, 2013) for which he also is designing and producing a full color exhibition catalog.

Throughout this whirlwind of activity, Chip can still be seen cycling to and from the Center, whatever the weather!
