Triple Canopy’s March visit to Columbia casts digital shadows across Chicago

An extensive article in NewCity Art by Jason Foumberg revisits many of the difficult issues confronted by contemporary artists and writers, as the twenty-first century art and literary worlds move forward faster than could have been imagined only 20 years ago. Foumberg’s thoughtful and comprehensive review of Triple Canopy’s March 2012 lecture, “Publication in the Expanded Field,” compares and contrasts the writing, technological imprint, and philosophy of the members of Triple Canopy with other contemporary artists and writers, as well as with those of earlier pioneering theorists such as Marshall McLuhan.
