Great 2015 to everyone. All of the winter holidays have passed.  It’s about the time for the spring semester to begin…

I enjoy reading up on how people interpretat the stars and planets. Interesting enough, one phenomenon that appears has recently occurred is what is being described as Saturn transiting into Sagittarius. Apparently, this only happens once every 29 years or so, lasting approximately 3 years, this time being from December 2014 to late 2017. So the last time this happened was from 1985 to 1988.

To help understand what is supposed to be expected, it was said to look at what was happening at that time to you (if you were born yet!) or those close to you. In addition suggestions are made in preparation for this three year period. The resounding ideal is that we all focus on laying a solid foundation for the future, past 2017.

As I prepare or the Spring semester (my second of grad school, second of four since I’m attending part-time), you can believe I’m scouring pages, charts, videos, books, and meditations, to get me ready for the next steps on my path. I tried to put it all together to get me psyched up for my resolutions, goal setting, and planning.

Whats interesting is that I happen to be a Sagittarius, and I happen to have been 5 years old the last time the planets lined up like they are now, so I am indeed able to recall some things, both around and after. And I can see a bit farther after coming across this information than I was able to before.

I definitely can remember 1985 to 1988. My parents enrolled me in Barbizon (yep, Barbizon…[insert laugh here, as needed]…) It sounds corny, but I REALLY had a good time going. It was my introduction to the stage.  I experienced a lot: working as an extra in movies and commercials (I can be seen as the olive blob in the background during a scene in “Opportunity Knocks,” no autographs, please…) shooting a product catalogue, going on auditions. It was exciting. It laid the ground work for me, then and now.

I also recall that at the end of that transition, my sister graduated 8th grade; we both had started going to a new school; we were all getting ready to move (again), and I was getting ready to get my own room. On the other side of that transit was such expansion, in so many ways.

There is a reason enrolling part-time was the best decision for me. The time for me is ripe to take my time. Don’t rush a thing. Focus on fine tuning my body, mind, spirit, and instruments for when I need them. I can see how the Interdisciplinary Arts program, and Columbia, is ABSOLUTELY a PERFECT fit for me. It’s all about the creative process…ALL about YOUR creative process (key word: process).

Its from this perspective that I can see, my path unfolds with steady steps. I afford to sit, and focus, and enjoy the ride, knowing to expect expansion on the other side. All righty… spring semester, here we go!

With that, Happy Saturn in Sagittarius! Sit back (focus), and enjoy the ride!
