Strawdog Theatre Company, whose ensemble includes several Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumni, presents the classic American comedy Once in a Lifetime April 22-June 4. The production will be Strawdog’s last show in its longtime space at 3829 N. Broadway, Chicago. (The company is moving to a new location next season.)
The cast of Once in a Lifetime features Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alums Justine C. Turner (BA ’02), a graduate of the Columbia College Theatre Department’s BA Program in Acting, and Michaela Petro. Both are Strawdog company members.
The production team includes dramaturg Arianna Soloway (BFA ’13), a graduate of the Columbia College Theatre Department’s BFA Program in Theatre Directing, as well as two current senior students in the Directing BFA program, assistant stage manager Max Colvill and assistant director Spencer Diedrick.
And the production’s music is composed by Mike Przygoda (BFA ’03), a graduate of the Columbia College Chicago Music Department‘s composition program.
Strawdog’s general manager is Mike Mroch (BFA ’11), a graduate of the Columbia College Theatre Department’s Theatre Directing BFA program. And Strawdog’s artistic director, Hank Boland, is a teacher in the Columbia College Chicago Cinema Art + Science department.
Written by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, the 1930 comedy Once in a Lifetime concerns two vaudeville performers trying to break into the motion picture industry.
