Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alumnus Mikey Silas ’11, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BA Program in Musical Theatre, has been profiled as one of Cleveland’s Most Interesting People of 2024 by Cleveland Magazine.
As previously reported in this blog, Silas is the lead singer and principal songwriter for the Cleveland rock/soul band Apostle Jones. He was voted the “Best Male Vocalist” in Cleveland Scene magazine’s “Best of Cleveland 2020” poll.
Now, in an article posted December 22, 2023, Cleveland writer Annie Nickoloff chronicles the artistic path that led to Silas, a Cleveland native, forming Apostle Jones. That path took him to Chicago, where he studied musical theatre at Columbia College and performed in Chicago musical-theatre productions before returning to his hometown in 2016.
