Columbia College Chicago Theatre Dept. Alums Featured in Theo Ubique Musical Theatre Events in April

Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alum Alex Newkirk ’11, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance, leads the monthly Broadway Open Mic Night at Theo Ubique Theatre on Wednesday, April 10.

Newkirk will accompany anyone who wants to drop in and sing show tunes. The bar will be open, so patrons can kick back and listen to new and established singers or bring their own sheet music to sing with Newkirk. Sign-up starts at 7:30 PM for the 8 PM entertainment. Theo Ubique is located at 721 Howard in the Chicago suburb of Evanston.

Also at Theo Ubique, Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alum Elya Faye Bottiger ’17, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance, is featured in Sondheim Tribute Revue, running through April 28.

The production features personal salutes from the actors to the late Broadway composer-lyricist Stephen Sondheim along with performances from Sondheim’s shows, including Anyone Can WhistleFollies, Saturday Night, Passion, Sweeney ToddCompany, and more. For tickets, click here.
