Columbia College Chicago Theatre Dept. Playwriting Alums Have New Work on Chicago Stages in March and April

Alumnae of the Playwriting program at the Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department have new plays running on Chicago stages in March and April of 2024.

Skyflint, a new work by Columbia College Theatre Department Playwriting program graduate Cassandra Rose ’10, is being presented as part of the Haven Chicago theatre company’s Director’s Haven 7 showcase.

Skyflint concerns a young woman with the innate ability to channel lightning. The production runs March 25 through April 10 at the Den Theatre, located at 1331 N. Milwaukee in Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. For tickets, click here.

And Madam & Steve, by Columbia College alum Hannah Loessberg ’23, is being presented by the Lazy Susan Theatre Co. April 4 through 20 at the Greenhouse Theater Center, located at 2257 N. Lincoln in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. Student discounts are available. For tickets, click here.

Madam & Steve is a 90-minute comedy that reimagines the biblical tale of creation as if the woman was created first. Loessberg is a graduate of the Columbia College Theatre Department’s BFA Program in Acting with a Minor in Playwriting.
