Hail Mary, a new comedy by Columbia College Chicago Theatre Department alum Ann Delaney ’14, a graduate of the Theatre Department’s BFA Program in Musical Theatre Performance, will be performed in an online reading Monday, July 18, as part of Stage Left Theatre‘s monthly play-reading series “Off Stage Left!” The reading will take place on Zoom at 7 PM Central Time. Tickets are $5. For tickets, click here.
The Off Stage Left! monthly play readings, done online for a virtual audience, provide audiences with the chance to hear professional actors, directors, and playwrights work on new, thought-provoking scripts.
In Delaney’s weirdo comedy, set in 2006, ex-Catholic and starving artist Mary reluctantly returns to her Catholic high school as a substitute teacher. There she is forced to confront her past, present, and financially bleak future.
As previously reported in this blog, Delaney is featured onstage in the world premiere of It Came From Outer Space, a new musical comedy adapted from the 1950s cult classic sci-fi film. That show has been extended through July 31 at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre on Navy Pier, located at 800 E. Grand on Chicago’s lakefront. For tickets, click here.
